CentOS (Community Enterprise Operating System) is an open-source operating system that originates from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) source. Another advantage of using CentOS is that the user can use both GUI and minimal versions and it can easily be installed on a Raspberry Pi system.

Install CentOS Minimal on Raspberry Pi 4
To install CentOS Minimal on your Raspberry Pi 4, first, ensure you have the following prerequisites.
Prerequisites
- SD card
- Card Reader
- Laptop/PC
- Raspberry Pi 4
After collecting the above-mentioned material, you can follow the steps given below to install CentOS Minimal on your Raspberry Pi 4:
Step 1: The first step to install CentOS Minimal is downloading its image from the official link attached here or you can also install the desired version from the CentOS website. But make sure to download the version that Raspberry Pi supports which can be confirmed with a 4 written with the name of OS.
Step 2: Now install balenaEtcher on Laptop or PC from here.
Step 3: Hit the Flash from File option after installing balenaEtcher in laptop or PC:
Step 4: Then select the downloaded image of CentOS and click the Open button:
Step 5: Now click on the Select target option and select the device (Raspberry Pi SD Card):
Note: Ensure you have inserted the SD card into Laptop or PC.
Step 6: Finally, click on Flash option to flash the CentOS Minimal image:
The image flashing will start and it is going to take some time:
Step 7: Once the Flashing process is finished, remove the SD card from the card reader and insert it into Raspberry Pi to boot the CentOS Minimal. On the first boot, you will see the screen as shown below. The local host login for the first boot is the root and the password is centos.
After entering the root login, you are good to go with CentOS Minimal on Raspberry Pi 4.
