Introduction to Google Server Hosting

We all know Google for being the most popular search engine which covers almost 70% of the market in search engines. Everyone uses Google or at least one of their products but not many people know or use Google server hosting. It’s found that 84% of IT managers surveyed are using public cloud infrastructure today. This blog will help you understand what it is and how it works.

What is Google Website Hosting?

Google’s web hosting is a part of the Google Cloud Platform, which is offered by Google that provides cloud hosting and tools for developers and small companies. The product that is mostly used for hosting websites is Computing Engine. It is cloud VPS hosting that you need to manage yourself. Though technically you can use Compute Engine for hosting other stuff, website hosting is what is usually associated with it.

Google cloud platform also offer their App Engine, storage, DNS, CDN, and a multitude of other services and products. It consists of a set of physical servers, as well as virtual resources like virtual machines (VMs) that are contained in Google’s data centers around the globe. We use Google Cloud Platform’s multi-regional deployment mode. This means that users can choose a different data center for each of their WordPress websites.

Is Google Hosting Free?

No. This is not free. However, you can get $300 free credits if you’re a new user. You can use those credits for 12 months. After 12 months, the credits expire. If you use up your $300 credits in the first month, they won’t be valid for the next 11 months. So, if you’re an existing user, you can’t use the $300 free credits’ promo. After you spend the credits, the bills can stack up pretty quickly. There is a free Tier with limitations, too. Be careful when using the Free Tier. Read all of their usage policies. If you do not meet their Free Tier criteria, you’ll be billed for your server usage. It may come as a surprise if you don’t know how the Free Tier works.
