How to Stop Discord from Launching at Startup on Windows

Discord is an online platform for communication that enables people to chat and call each other. 1: Change Discord Settings to Stop it From Launching at Startup

To stop Discord from launching at startup, follow the instructions given below:

Step 1: Launch Discord; tap on the Settings icon at the bottom-left corner of Discord:

Step 2: A new window will open; choose Windows Settings from the left pane. Now look for the SYSTEM STARTUP BEHAVIOR section, and toggle off the option Open Discord:

Now, you have to manually launch the Discord app whenever you want to use it.

2: Stop Discord from Launching at Startup through Task Manager

The other way to turn off the automatic start component of discord is to turn it off from the task Manager:

Step 1: Right-click on the Taskbar and choose Task Manager; you can also press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to launch the Task Manager on the laptop/PC:

Step 2: Click on the Startup tab, look for the application name with the Update, and select it. Click on the Disable button to turn it off:

Note: The downloaded file of Discord will automatically be renamed as Update, whether you install it from the app or through its website.
