One of them would say ‘run this program in compatibility mode for:’ make sure from the drop-down menu, ‘Windows XP (Service pack 2)’ is selected. On the downside of the same tab, you will find another checkbox saying ‘run this program as an administrator, make sure it is ticked.

Click on ‘apply’ and hit ‘Ok’.Hit ‘Ok’ in the Fallout 3 Properties tab as well. Now, search for ‘Fallout Launcher, right-click on it and go to the properties in the list of files. In the properties window, select the compatibility tab. At the bottom of the compatibility tab, you will find an option saying ‘Change settings for all users; click on it.

In the tab, you will find a few checkboxes. One of them would say ‘run this program in compatibility mode for:’ make sure from the drop-down menu, ‘Windows XP (Service pack 2)’ is selected. Hit ‘Ok’ in the Fallout Launcher properties tab as well.

Now, from the list of files, go to ‘Fallout default’. In the notepad window that opens up, you will see some code, and in there, we are supposed to find the ‘bUse threaded’. After finding the command saying ‘buse threaded, make sure its value is 1. Yours is going to be a 0; make sure to change it and make it 1.

Just below the base Threaded command, put another command saying iNumHWThreads=2 copy-paste it from here and save the changes.
