Developed by Supercell, Clash of Clans is a mobile strategy video game for android and iOS devices.
In the game, you build a village, create your army, train them, and battle your enemies to lead your clan to victory. You can get more points by attacking and defending your village from attacks.
This tutorial will show you how to set up the popular Clash of Clans game on the Bluestacks Emulator.
What is Bluestacks?
Bluestacks is a popular android emulator that allows you to run android applications and games on your PC. It works by setting up an Android Virtual Device, a workspace where you can install games and apps as a physical android device.
Bluestacks is compatible with Windows and macOS systems.
Step 1 – Install Bluestacks
The first step is to set up the Bluestacks emulator on your computer. In this example, we will use a Windows system and Bluestacks 5.
Before proceeding, check the Bluestacks 5 system requirements on the official website.
Disable Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and WSL
In some instances, Bluestacks 5 will fail to start when various features such as Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Subsystem for Linux are enabled.
To disable them, launch the start menu and search “turn windows features on or off.”
In the next window, ensure Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Subsystem for Linux features are disabled.
NOTE: You may need to reboot your system to apply the changes.
Installing Bluestacks
Launch your browser and navigate to the official Bluestacks page:
Select Download Bluestacks to get the Bluestacks installer package.
Run the installer package once the download is complete.
Click the install button to install the latest version of the Bluestacks emulator.
NOTE: To prevent errors during the Bluestacks installation process, confirm whether you have disabled the abovementioned features.
Step 2 – Install Clash of Clans
Launch Bluestacks and open the Google Playstore. Log in with your Google account to install applications from the Playstore.
Once signed in, open the search bar and enter “Clash of Clans.” In the search result, select the game published by supercell and click install.
Upon completion, Bluestacks will add the game to the list of applications. Navigate to the Bluestacks home window and select the game to launch.
You will need to read and accept the term of service.
Upon launch, Clash of clans will run a tutorial to show various features and how to play the game. If you are new to Clash of Clans, complete the tutorial to get the basics of getting started with gameplay.
Step 3 – Navigating the Game
Playing Clash of Clans on Bluestacks is not different from playing it on any android device.
The following are some keybindings and navigation techniques for Clash of Clans on Bluestacks.
- Select – Default system select mouse key.
- Shake Screen – CTRL + SHIFT + 3
- Zoom the Environment – Scroll Mouse
- Zoom to a specific point – CTRL + Mouse Scroll
- Zoom Environment at level – ALT + Mouse Scroll
