How to Make a Bed in Minecraft

There are lots of mobs in the game that can halt your progress by attacking you and eventually killing you. Some of the strongest mobs usually spawn during the night so what you can do is place a bed on the ground and right-click on it. Doing this will make you sleep on the bed and the mobs will no longer be able to harm you. Other than that, this will also be used as a spawn point as well.

Required Materials to Make a Bed

You can make a bed by using a block of wool and wooden planks whereas their quantity is mentioned in the table below.

How to Make a Wool

You can make wool by placing 4 strings on the crafting table whereas you need to kill the spider mob to get these strings. You won’t be able to find these spiders easily as they spawn only in the dark areas inside the caves, tunnels. But if you try your luck and still you won’t be able to find them then you should wait for the night and during that time they will spawn naturally on the ground as well.

Now killing a spider will give you around 1-2 strings but that would not be enough for the recipe because you need 3 blocks of wool and 1 can be made by placing 4 strings on the crafting table. This will make it a lengthy process and you need to find and kill lots of spiders for this purpose.

How to Make Wooden Planks

To make wooden planks, find any tree nearby and chop it either by using your hand or with an axe which reduces the chopping time and is highly recommended. Chopping a tree will give you a wooden log that you need to place on the crafting table which will give you 4 wooden planks.

How to Make a Bed

Now on the top 3 slots, you need to place 3 blocks of wool and in the middle 3 slots, you need to palace the 3 wooden planks on the crafting table in the same way as shown in the image to make a bed.

How to Change the Color of the Bed

The basic color of the bed is white but if you want to change its color then you need the dye of that color to apply to it. For example, if you want a red-colored bed then you need to place the red dye and a bed on the crafting table as shown in the image below.

After making the bed, place it on the ground and right-click on it to sleep on it but keep that in mind that this will only work during the night time.
