How to install Kodi the Crew Addon on Raspberry Pi

The first step is to install Kodi on your Raspberry Pi operating system. Its installation is not difficult if you have already installed important packages and updates for your Raspberry Pi operating system. However, if you haven’t installed them yet, don’t worry, we will show you how you can do it.

In order to get the information of packages and software updates you need to enter the below mentioned command in the terminal.

$ sudo apt update

The above update command will download the necessary information for you. Next, you need to upgrade the software using the below given command.

$ sudo apt full-upgrade

Then, in the terminal, type the following command to install Kodi on Raspberry Pi. The command will install the required files and finish the Kodi installation. Wait a few moments as the installation may take some time. If you encounter an error during installation, you must first update your package before attempting to install it.

$ sudo apt-get install kodi

After the installation of Kodi, you can run the software by typing “Kodi” in the terminal. You can also find Kodi in the “Sound and Video” option available in the main menu.

Here are the steps which are necessary for you to do in order to install Crew Addon on Kodi.

Step 1: Now, after opening the Kodi, it is necessary for you to go to the “Settings” option and click on the “System settings” icon.

Step 2: You can add a repository manually from the below method. Go to system settings, click on the “File manager” option. 

Step 3: Next, you need to click on the “Add source” option.

Step 4: In the “Add source” option, you need to add the name of the media source as “Crew Repo” and enter the path for media location as “https://team-crew.github.io/” in order to add a repository as shown in the image below and click “OK”.

Step 5: Now go back to the setting option by pressing the “Esc” button and there select the “Add-on” option from the menu list.

Step 6: After selecting “Add-ons” you will see an option for “Unknown sources”, select it and enable it with your mouse. Click “Yes” on the warning that appears on your screen immediately after you enable “Unknown sources”.

Step 7:Go back to the menu screen through the “Esc” button. Locate and select the “Add-ons” option on the Kodi home screen. First, select the “Add-on,” and there you will see the add-on at the top left corner so click on it. 

Step 8: Now the next step is to select the option “Install from zip file” and it will head you to the next step.

Step 9: Now you will be able to see the Crew Repo file so select it and click OK.

Step 10: Select the zip file of Crew which appears on your screen and select the “OK” option.

Step 11: When the zip file installation is complete, press the “Esc” key to move to the previous menu. Select the “Add-ons” option from the main menu, followed by the “Add-on browser” option. Then, to proceed to the next option, select “my add-ons options” there you will see the Crew Add on.

Step 12: Click on the “Add-ons” option and then go to the “Add-on repository” to view the Crew Repo and see its status as it is downloaded automatically.

Ater waiting for a few seconds you will see that it is successfully installed on Kodi.

Step 13: Now go to the “Add-ons” option again.

Step 14: Click on the option “Install from repository”.

Step 15: Go to the “Video add-ons” option.

Step 16: In the “Video add-ons” option, select the Crew in the video add-on and install it in Kodi. Wait for downloading to be completed.

You can now open the Crew in video add-ons and start enjoying movies, TV shows and other entertainment.
