How to Display the Hidden Files in Ubuntu 22.04 Using GUI

Windows and Linux are famous operating systems that serve different audiences. Linux is a programming-centric OS, and Windows offers more GUI options. That’s why the Windows users usually look for GUI methods only to perform some tasks.

However, many beginners who recently switched from Windows to Linux don’t know how to display the hidden files. This short guide gives you a brief discussion on the methods that you can try to display the hidden files in Ubuntu 22.04.

How to Display the Hidden Files in Ubuntu 22.04 Using GUI

1. To display the hidden files through GUI, go to the directory where you want to display the hidden files.

2. After reaching the destination directory, you can display the hidden files in two ways. First, you can display the hidden files by pressing Ctrl + H simultaneously.

Second, click on the second view option(1). Then, tick “Show hidden files (2)” as shown in the following image:

Following the previous two options, the system displays all the hidden files.

The names of the hidden files start with “.” (period) so that these files are always sorted alphabetically after the unhidden files.
