Photoshop is one of the best Raster graphics applications used for photo editing and other graphics manipulations. Being the most powerful application in the domain, Photoshop is used by photographers and design professionals on a large scale for image retouching and creating high-quality designs.
Using Photoshop for the first time can be a bit confusing as it has a slightly complex dashboard. Being a beginner, it becomes pretty difficult to understand the basics of specific plugins, brushes, and fonts in Photoshop.
In this article today, I am going to guide you in adding new fonts in Photoshop. However, before we proceed further, let us learn the importance of the fonts and types of fonts you need to add to your Photoshop application.
How to Choose Perfect Photoshop Fonts?
There are plenty of fonts available on the internet for Photoshop. They can be free or paid depending upon the standards. But which one to choose?
Here are several basic principles that you can consider while adding fonts to your Photoshop application:
The fonts you are going to choose for your design should easily match the rest of your design, along with the colors and shapes. You need to consider the weight, style, width, and italicization of fonts before finalizing.
There is no fun in adding attractive fonts if they are not readable in a variety of environments. Your selected fonts should be legible with all types of displays with all the configurations. Before you set your design to its final state, always try multiple fonts in different environments.
Designs speak louder than words. When adding fonts to the design, always try to understand the sentiments of the target audience. You can use specific tags to search for the desired fonts for your design.
Photoshop has a huge library of fonts available within. But sometimes, it gets to be too limited for designers. If you add new fonts on your own, make sure you get them from a reliable source and authentic provider. Don’t hesitate to pay the required amount for premium ones.
Being a designer myself, I strongly suggest you refrain from buying pirated fonts since it is most disrespectful to the original creator.
